Bad Habits You Must Stop When Brushing

The year is almost to a close, and we want to keep the best habits that we can! Furthermore, we also want to boast a healthy, bright smile for all those photos that are coming. As such, we wish to brush off the bad brushing habits and keep the good ones!

 

Swapping your toothbrush for a new one

This is probably one of the most forgetful things to do in all of our routines and habits. A toothbrush’s life should typically last between 3 and 4 months, as it then starts to deteriorate. A clear example of this is if the bristles of your brush are all worn out.

Brushing your teeth gently

This one is also linked to the previous one, and not only that but with your gum health as well.

Brushing too hard or to the point of feeling tired is a bad sign, for your teeth and for your toothbrush. The secret behind a good brushing is the technique, rather than force and enthusiasm.

Last but not least, if you recently had a meal, it is best to wait 30 minutes before you brush. This is specifically important with acidic food, fruits and sodas, as they weaken the tooth enamel for a small timeframe.

We know that it is annoying to have food stuck in your mouth, but you can chew on sugarless gum or rinse with water in the mean time!
